In Loving Memory
"Bra T"
12 March 1958 - 8 June 2026 - 68 years old
A life beautifully lived, a legacy forever remembered.
We gather to celebrate the life, love, and legacy of Thabo Mokoena, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Thabo touched countless lives through his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering generosity. His door was always open, his table always shared, and his laughter filled every room he entered.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
Thabo was born in Soweto on 12 March 1958, the second of five children. He dedicated 35 years of his life to teaching mathematics at Ithuteng Secondary School, where generations of learners came to know him as a patient mentor and father figure. He married his beloved Nomvula in 1982, and together they built a home filled with music, faith, and family. In his retirement, Thabo devoted himself to his garden, his church community, and his seven grandchildren, who knew him simply as 'Mkhulu'.
His wife Nomvula Mokoena; children Sipho, Lerato, and Thandi; seven grandchildren; and his sisters Dikeledi and Mapule.
His parents, Samuel and Grace Mokoena, and his brother Petrus.
The Mokoena family extends heartfelt gratitude for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Your presence and kindness carry us through.
